POWERGRID, a ‘Maharatna’ Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, is inviting applications from bright, committed, and diligent law graduates to join as Officer Trainee (Law). Below are the details of the recruitment process:

1. Job Specification

Position: Officer Trainee (Law)

Induction Level:

- Training Period: Officer Trainee – Law (OT-Law) for an initial one-year training.

- Post Training: Officer (Law) – E2 after successful completion of training.

Educational Qualification:

- Full-time Three-year LLB or Five-year Integrated Law/LLB course with not less than 60% marks or equivalent CGPA as per the formula provided by the Institute/University.

Age Limit:

- Upper Age Limit: 28 years as of the last date of submission of the online application.

2. Vacancies and Reservation

Candidates belonging to the PwBD category can apply for the above post, provided they meet the eligibility criteria for their respective category. The PwBD sub-categories identified as suitable for this post are:

- Locomotive Disability (LD): One Leg (OL), One Arm (OA), Both Arms (BA), Both Legs (BL), One Arm and One Leg (OAL), Both Legs & One Arm (BLOA), Both Legs & Arms (BLA), Leprosy Cured (LC), Dwarfism (Dw), Acid Attack Victim (AAV), Muscular Dystrophy (MDy), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Spinal Deformity (SD)/Spinal Injury (SI) without associated neurological/limb dysfunction, or Spinal Deformity (SD)/Spinal Injury (SI) with associated limb dysfunction.

- Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness

- Multiple Disabilities involving (a) to (d) above.

3. Compensation Package

During Training Period:

- Basic Pay: ₹40,000/- per month.

- Along with the basic pay, candidates will receive the extant Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Perks @12% of the basic pay.

Upon Regularization (Post Training):

- Designation: Officer (Law) at E-2 level in the Executive Cadre.

- Pay Scale: ₹50,000 - ₹1,60,000 (IDA) with 3% annual increments.

Additional Benefits Upon Regularization:

- Compensation Package includes:

- Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Perquisites, and Allowances as per the cafeteria approach.

- Performance Related Pay (PRP).

- Company Leased Accommodation / Company Quarters or House Rent Allowance (HRA).

4. Service Agreement Bond

Selected candidates are required to execute a Service Agreement Bond to successfully complete the prescribed training period and serve the organization for at least three years thereafter. The amount of the bond is:

- General/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates: ₹5,00,000/- plus applicable taxes.

- SC/ST/PwBD candidates: ₹2,50,000/- plus applicable taxes.

5. Application Fees

- Application Fee: ₹500/- (Non-refundable)

- Exemptions: SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/DEx-Servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.

6. Selection Process

The selection process for Officer Trainee (Law) includes the following stages:

1. CLAT 2025 (for Admission to Post Graduation):

- Minimum Qualifying Marks in CLAT 2025:

- Unreserved / EWS Vacancy: 40%

- Reserved Vacancy: 30%

- Shortlisting for Group Discussion & Personal Interview:

- Candidates will be shortlisted category-wise in a prescribed ratio based on their actual marks in CLAT 2025.

2. Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview:

- Qualifying Marks in Interview:

- Unreserved / EWS candidates: 40%

- Reserved Vacancy candidates: 30%

3. Weightage to Different Parameters:

- CLAT 2025 Marks (for admission in Post Graduation): 85%

- Group Discussion: 3%

- Personal Interview: 12%

4. Empanelment of Candidates:

- Only candidates who qualify in the Personal Interview will be adjudged suitable for empanelment.

- Candidates will be shortlisted category-wise for empanelment in proportion to the number of vacancies in the respective category.

5. Offer of Appointment & Pre-employment Medical Examination:

- Suitable candidates will receive the Offer of Appointment in the order of category-wise merit and based on organizational requirements.

- Appointment is subject to candidates being found medically fit in the Pre-Employment Medical Examination conducted as per POWERGRID's Norms and Standards of Medical Fitness.

Note: Candidates shall have the option of appearing in Group Discussion / Personal Interview in either Hindi or English.
